Harshitha Komali Olla—Taking AI to New Levels at Pearl Technology

An intern working as an AI Associate Analyst at Pearl Technology, Harshitha Komali Olla (Komi) is responsible for utilizing artificial intelligence effectively within the company. In this role, Komi is also automating financial data entry and calculations using Python scripts and deploying solutions on the cloud.

How She Serves

Komi’s journey at Pearl began with her exposure to Lean Six Sigma methodologies, which strengthened her understanding of process improvement. Though she worked with Agile environments before, her internship now gives her a deeper perspective on how she can apply it to real-time projects.

“My typical workday involves researching technologies, developing automation scripts, testing solutions, and collaborating with the team to explore how AI and cloud technologies can bring more value to business operations,” she said. “I look forward to contributing to Pearl AI. The opportunity to explore AI-driven projects excites me, and I’m eager to be part of the innovations that lie ahead.”

What Her Experience Means

Komi currently works at Pearl Technology’s office in Peoria Heights. She joined the team as an intern in May 2025 after completing a master’s degree in Computer Science (software engineering and data science) from Bradley University.

“I contacted Pearl Technology in February so that I could get a tour of the data center, which led to my joining the team once I had completed my master’s degree,” Komi explained. “I was particularly attracted to Pearl Technology due to its diverse technology solutions in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and software development. The company’s forward-thinking approach to adopting AI and automation inspired me to become a part of its journey.”

Prior to coming to the United States, Komi obtained her bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from JNTUK, India, in 2023.

“During my time at Bradley, I worked as a Graduate Student Assistant for the Empowering Women Globally (EWG) program at the Turner School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This role gave me exposure to project management and international collaboration with universities in Brazil and India, which further enriched my cultural perspective.”

Komi also worked as a data analyst in the past. Though the role was analytical, her projects were highly technical and cloud-oriented, focusing on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure Solutions. These experiences, combined with her strong academic foundation, helped her transition smoothly into her internship at Pearl Technology.

“I have always been naturally curious and enjoy researching, problem-solving, and exploring the web. I love working with data, cloud technologies, AI, and machine learning. My academic journey gave me strong fundamentals and confidence, while my professional experience has trained me to apply them effectively in real-world scenarios.”

Komi’s previous roles—working with a variety of programming libraries, frameworks, and cloud technologies—have been helpful to the work she’s doing now at Pearl Technology. “The company encourages innovation while maintaining a supportive atmosphere, which makes me excited to contribute every day.”

Komi hopes to add to the company’s growth even more by using her skills in data, cloud, and AI automation, as well as helping to bring efficiency to the processes that support Pearl’s digital transformation journey. She is a proactive learner, taking on challenges and translating them into opportunities for the company. Komi also hopes to become Senior AI/Machine Learning (ML) Engineer at Pearl Technology in the future.

“I see Pearl Technology expanding strongly in AI and ML applications for smarter operations, workflow automation for improved business efficiency, AI-driven data warehouses for intelligent data management, and prompt engineering playbooks to adopt AI effectively.”

Komi was awarded a graduate student assistantship at Bradley University and was recognized with the Best Software Project Team Award while working on her master’s degree.

What Sustains Her

Originally from Andhra Pradesh, India, Komi currently lives in the Peoria area. She has a passion for learning and problem-solving that keeps her motivated every day. She loves seeing how her work contributes to efficiency and innovation.

“Being process-oriented and consistent is part of my philosophy,” she said. “I also apply principles from the Bhagavad Gita to stay disciplined and balanced professionally and personally. I work hard, stay consistent, and build passion for what I love. This continues to guide my journey.”

When Komi isn’t working, she enjoys reading books, playing badminton, walking, drawing, solving puzzles and problems, and spending time with friends.
