As senior vice president of security and operations at Pearl Technology, Anthony Mini oversees all aspects of technical operations for our data centers, cybersecurity, and IT solutions. Working from the Peoria Heights office, Anthony strives to extend the company’s dedication to innovation and high-quality client experiences to cyber operations and security.
How He Serves
For Anthony, no day is the same. That’s because he plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees all activities within Pearl Technology. His primary objectives are to assure the development and implementation of efficient operations within the organization.
An accomplished technology professional, Anthony has more than 20 years of experience in strategic planning, project management, cybersecurity, and IT operations. In addition, he’s an active guardsman with over 20 years of distinguished military service.
Anthony transitioned to part-time reservist status to accept his current position with Pearl Technology in 2021. He began his military career in 2001 and participated in homeland security operations for two years in support of Operation Noble Eagle. In 2019, he deployed overseas as cyber operations flight commander in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Back in Illinois, he has been involved in joint (Army/Air Force) cyber initiatives and has been activated multiple times to provide cybersecurity support to the state.
Anthony also served as chairman of the Air National Guard (ANG) Communication Field Advisory Committee from 2016 to 2018. He represented over 2,500 ANG cyber professionals from across the country, lobbying for critical resources and impacting national policy. Anthony also served previously on the National Guard Association of Illinois’ executive board, providing oversight and governance, supporting the Illinois National Guard through legislative advocacy, and serving as technology committee lead.
As a member of the InfraGard Illinois–Springfield Members Alliance, Anthony helps connect the private sector to the FBI, thereby helping to protect the critical infrastructure from emerging technologies and threats. He has also been instrumental in starting a satellite chapter based in Peoria.
What Motivates Him
Anthony is obsessed with all things related to technology. In fact, one reason he was drawn to Pearl Technology was because he recognized “the tremendous opportunity to experience growth and innovations in the exact technologies I am most passionate about right here in central Illinois.”
“There are not enough hours in the day for me to focus on my passion,” Anthony said. “I want to help develop and balance a healthy understanding of our current operations and the strategic awareness to maneuver future developments. ”
Anthony loves working with people who are passionate about the tech industry. “I love to experience the speed of change this industry brings to the table every day. I rarely—if ever—do the same thing two days in a row. I truly appreciate the opportunity to apply my skills and talents in a way that contributes to something bigger.”
While Pearl Technology provides clients with innovative solutions to complex problems, Anthony envisions ways to help serve customers even better. “The IT solutions team will transition networks to hybrid cloud solutions and upgrade critical business functions, the cybersecurity team will continue to develop defensive and offensive best practices that enhance the security posture, and the data center team will continue to innovate redundancy and storage solutions that provide more business continuity options.”
What Sustains Him
Anthony and his wife, Cristen, live with their three children in Central Illinois. His hobbies include aviation, golf, hockey, and geeking out. He has served as a mentor to cadets through Lincoln’s Challenge Academy and coached youth hockey since 2010.
