How He Serves
Tom works out of the Peoria Heights office and is responsible for helping to ensure that technology runs smoothly in our clients’ daily operations. So, on any given day, he might be working to help solve issues with application development, backup and continuity, managed services, or special projects. For example, as part of managed services, he installs both software and hardware, troubleshoots program issues, supports and monitors servers for functionality and efficiency, and more.
What His Experience Means
Tom brought more than 14 years of IT experience to his position at Pearl Tech. A graduate of Bradley University (2004), he has a bachelor’s degree in business management and administration.
“I was able to jump right in and help my team from day 1,” he said. “Since I already had experience working with multiple companies in my previous job, I was prepared to work with the environments our clients face too.”
A team player, Tom enjoys the emphasis on excellent customer service and providing encouragement for clients and coworkers alike.
“I work with multiple clients every day, and I learn something new all the time. It’s great to be able to expand your knowledge as you deal with clients every day.”
Pearl Tech’s reputation for high-tech, quality service drew him to his position, but he says it’s the people that mean the most to him. “I’m a people person and enjoy using my technology knowledge to help others. Working in IT allows me to put my passions into practice.”
Tom hopes to see Pearl Tech extend services more to the north and south of Illinois, maybe into the Chicago and St. Louis areas, as well as into other states.
What Sustains Him
Tom’s faith and family carry him through each day, and he lives by the motto of “Serve God, love others.”
Currently living in Groveland, IL, Tom and his wife, Laura, have been married 11 years. They have two sons, ages 6 and 7, along with an American bulldog named Rose.
In his free time, Tom loves doing a variety of activities that live out his motto… volunteering as a Boys’ Brigade Leader, chairing the Compassion and Care Committee, or serving as a deacon at his church. Of course, when he’s home, he enjoys reading comics, playing with his sons (video games and sports), and reading books.
