Pearl Technology Participates in Central Illinois’ Stand Down

On Saturday, October 18, Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois held its 17th annual Stand Down for Homeless and At-Risk Veterans.  For the past decade, Pearl Technology has provided meals for approximately 500 veterans and volunteers who assist them.  This year, the meal included pulled pork sandwiches, jalapeño corn, and cowboy beans.  Pearl buys the groceries, cooks the food, and helps serve it. In addition, the company provides a financial donation.

As part of the event, veterans receive new winter coats, boots, toiletries, clothes, and various other items to prepare them for winter. They can also receive free haircuts, flu shots, and help in finding additional resources and assistance.  The event also had workshops on veteran benefits and mental wellness.

Pearl Technology is honored and humbled to partner with Goodwill on this much-needed cause.
