As a procurement and warehouse logistics specialist at Pearl Technology, Brandon Hilst is responsible for managing the inventory, receiving equipment, coordinating logistics, and procuring any equipment needed for audiovisual solutions.
How He Serves
Brandon works out of the headquarters in Peoria Heights. He previously worked for Pearl Companies for over 3 years as a service advisor, starting in 2015. More recently, he joined the Pearl Technology team to work in his current role in December 2025.
Brandon talks about what drew him to Pearl Tech. “I worked for Peoria Toyota when it was owned by Pearl Companies. I loved the culture and atmosphere they created.” He left that role for medical reasons, but when the opportunity arose for his current position with Pearl Technology, he couldn’t pass it up. “It feels like I’m home again.”
What His Experience Means
Prior to joining the Pearl Tech team, Brandon worked as a parts picker, forklift driver, and parts manager, as well as a lubrication tech and service advisor. He also has experience as a procurement coordinator.
Brandon has more than 20 years of experience and is certified in Global Procurement and Sourcing; Microsoft 365 Fundamentals; Sandler Sales Pro Silver; and Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
“My prior experience contributes to all I do here,” Brandon explained. “My on-the-job training and certifications help me adapt to this environment and fulfill my tasks at Pearl Technology more completely. When I first joined the team, I set my past work aside so that I could learn. As I grow more in my role, I will apply even more of my skills. For example, this position requires structure, and that is one of my strengths.”
Brandon plans to streamline inventory services and logistics to help Pearl Tech grow in this region. “I will be taking over the purchasing for Pearl Technology in the future, too.”
He enjoys the team he works with and the way things operate at Pearl Tech. “Everyone here is very willing to help one another and answer any questions I may have. It’s truly like a family here.”
A former U.S. Marine with a National Defense Medal for service during 9/11, Brandon worked on guard duty at a NATO building in Norfolk, Virginia, for a few months. He also received a Letter of Appreciation from a 3-star general for participating in an Adopt-a-School program.
Brandon offers dedication and commitment to service wherever he works. He appreciates the opportunity to provide a service to his coworkers and help take care of the company’s clients.
“Pearl Technology is always growing, with new positions available. I encourage people to check what’s available because there’s a lot of variety here and there’s opportunities to grow alongside the company.”
What Sustains Him
Brandon and his wife live in Dunlap with their two children. The family also has two cats, Balor and Zeus.
“Every day is a new day. I believe in taking it and making the most of it. Every day is a reset… whatever happened yesterday, today is a new day. My mindset is that I’m going to make the most of every day.”
When Brandon’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports, and collecting sports cards “My love of collecting sports cards since 1990 has become a family thing. My wife loves hockey and collects hockey cards. My son collects Pokémon cards. Seeing their enjoyment when they open their cards makes it all worth it to me.”
