An award-winning audiovisual (AV) systems designer, Jeremy Caldera, CTS-D, CTS-I, is an expert in the industry. And, if you spend time talking with him, you’ll soon see how much Jeremy loves sharing his knowledge and “cool technology” with clients.
How He Serves
The senior vice president of audiovisual solutions at Pearl Technology, Jeremy specializes in the planning and design of AV systems.
One of the best in the industry, Jeremy has more than 25 years of experience and was recently named to the SCN Magazine International AV Hall of Fame. His passion is creating an AV experience that is ideal for each client.
“I love helping large clients with enterprise standards and enhanced user experiences through design,” Jeremy says. “So, if you have more than one room or location that needs AV services, the technology will work the same in each. This makes it easier for people who are giving presentations in multiple locations. In addition, by keeping user experience in mind when we design, we ensure our clients understand exactly how to use the equipment so that they can navigate the systems with ease.”
As the former CEO of IAS Technology, Jeremy joined Pearl Technology at the time of its acquisition. In his current position, Jeremy not only plans and designs AV systems, but also oversees the division’s management and development of corporate standards and strategies for business growth.
“I want to help make Pearl Technology one of the best audiovisual technology companies in the United States,” he says. “I believe we can achieve this by designing AV systems that exceed client standards and providing high-quality products. I love solving complex problems with high-tech solutions and innovative technology.”
Jeremy excels in many areas of his life and has received several other awards, including AVIXA* International Educator of the Year and AVIXA International Young AV Professional. Previously recognized as one of Peoria’s top 40 business leaders under 40, he has also been nationally recognized in the industry by CI Magazine as one of the top 40 most influential people under 40.
What Motivates Him
“Though I have only been with Pearl Technology a few months,” Jeremy explains, “I appreciate the people and culture here. The values at Pearl Technology are very similar to the ones we had at IAS.”
Jeremy also enjoys working with a bigger client base. “I appreciate having the support of the entire IT team at Pearl Technology. Adding AV integration to the mix helps us provide a more complete solution for clients. I believe this will expand our reach nationally as more clients understand the importance of the AV experience in their business. For example, video conferencing has become more critical than ever before, but it’s only one aspect of AV integration we can offer our clients.”
What Sustains Him
Jeremy lives in Eureka with his fiancée, Angela. Together, they have a blended family of two daughters and one son. They also have two Great Danes.
In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys competitive shooting and sharing his knowledge and love for AV. He is actively involved as a volunteer within the professional AV industry and his community. Jeremy has served as the chair of AVIXA’s Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) Certification Program, a member of AVIXA’s Leadership Search Committee, and the chair of the committee for renewal of the AVIXA/ANSI 2M standard. Jeremy has also taught advanced AV design at Columbia College Chicago and sits on the academic advisory board of the Audio Arts & Acoustics department.
