How She Serves
Jennifer focuses on understanding and addressing the unique cybersecurity needs of each client, so she can provide expert advice, develop tailored protection strategies, and maintain strong relationships to ensure ongoing support.
“My responsibilities include collaborating with strategic partners, forecasting industry trends, managing vendor relations, organizing educational events, and staying current on the latest developments in cybersecurity,” she said.
Jennifer works out of Pearl Technology’s offices in Peoria Heights. “Each day is a mix of client interactions and strategic planning. I start by catching up on the latest industry news and trends, then spend time reaching out to clients, offering support, and discussing cybersecurity needs. Throughout the day, I balance networking in person and on LinkedIn, organizing webinars and ensuring clients receive the best possible service and solutions.”
Jennifer was attracted to Pearl Technology for its strong, local reputation in IT, AV, and data solutions. She also appreciated the company’s proactive stance on industry trends and its supportive team environment.
What Her Experience Means
Before joining the team at Pearl Technology in May, Jennifer worked as an esthetician and makeup artist, where she honed a detailed understanding of client care and developed a strong sense of creativity and strategic thinking as a business owner.
“These abilities are crucial in helping me to create community events and educational opportunities for our clients. I’m enthusiastic about applying my project management and organizational skills to enhance client education and support the team at Pearl Technology,” she said. “I was also fortunate to take advantage of the IT Accelerator program at Illinois Central College. It was instrumental in my education and in helping me to land my position at Pearl Technology.”
Jennifer’s background has taught her the importance of client relations, personalized service, and e-commerce/retail sales. She also participates in ongoing training in cybersecurity principles, sales & marketing, and IT & computer networking foundations.
She appreciates the ever-changing landscape of her role at Pearl Technology. “There’s always something new to learn, a fresh challenge to solve, or a different person to meet. It keeps my days interesting and engaging,” she said.
“I’m excited to leverage my outgoing personality to form an online presence and help expand Pearl Tech’s cybersecurity brand awareness. By actively engaging on platforms like LinkedIn, creating compelling blog posts, and producing informative videos, I plan to enhance our marketing efforts and showcase our cybersecurity expertise to a larger audience.”
Jennifer anticipates Pearl Technology will expand its footprint in the cybersecurity industry, particularly in emerging technologies and innovative solutions. By adapting to the evolving threat landscape, the company will continue growing as a leader in cybersecurity solutions.
“As a new team member at Pearl Technology, I’ve quickly learned the importance of keeping up with the latest cybersecurity trends to provide the best advice to our clients. I’ve also seen how a consultative approach helps build stronger client relationships. The collaborative environment here has shown me the true value of teamwork. Jennifer’s most recent professional achievement has been successfully transitioning from the beauty industry into cybersecurity. “This move involved me getting out of my comfort zone, going back to school, rapidly acquiring new technical knowledge, networking with those more experienced in the industry, adapting my existing skills to meet the demands of the cybersecurity sector, immersing myself fully into an exciting new world, and once again saying yes to opportunity!”
What Sustains Her
A Central Illinois resident, Jennifer’s family is a key part of what sustains her. She lives with her husband, Keith, and their two boys—Isaiah, 13, and Braxton, 11.
“One of my biggest achievements is raising two beautiful, intelligent, and kind boys with my husband, Keith. My family is such a blessing and brings my world so much happiness and purpose.”
Her satisfaction comes from helping clients secure their digital assets and the continuous learning opportunities, as well as being around the supportive team at Pearl Tech.
A very special mentor once told Jennifer, “Life is less about the destination and all about the journey. Work hard but enjoy it!” That has stuck with her ever since, and she is grateful for the guidance and support she has received throughout her career.
In her free time, Jennifer enjoys self-care. She believes skincare is important, and makeup is an outlet for her to stay on top of her creativity. She loves staying active and dancing too. “I am often spinning around with my hoops, listening to some energetic tunes or using my living room as my own stage, living my best life in my own world.”
She added, “To chill out, I enjoy hanging out with my family—being outside, swimming or hanging out on the lake, playing board and video games, or watching movies. As a family, we also enjoy volunteering for local organizations, which allows us to improve our community and take care of our nation’s veterans and other vulnerable populations.”
