As Director of Audiovisual Operations at Pearl Technology, Joseph Bohna is involved in many aspects of the company’s AV integration services. His role is vital to helping audiovisual solutions meet client expectations and goals.
How He Serves
Working from Pearl Technology’s headquarters in Peoria Heights, Joe works every day to assure operations run smoothly between teams. He collaborates with technicians, programmers, engineers, and project leads to keep everyone working together seamlessly. He also helps to assure they have what they need to achieve client objectives. Joe also often works with clients, vendors, various labor trades, and subcontractors to ensure the best audiovisual services are matched to client organizations.
“I will also fill in where needed,” Joe said. “I’ll serve as a lead tech, project manager, or programmer if it’s required.”
Joe first heard about Pearl Technology from friends, who helped to interest him in joining the staff. “I love the team here,” he said. “I also enjoy being a mentor and helping to develop staff. I love helping clients and team members alike. Recently, I was able to help a client automate meeting delegation and production suite processes, which simplified support requirements and freed up staff. Those are the types of activities that make my day.”
What His Experience Means
Before joining the staff at Pearl Technology in 2022, Joe worked as the Audiovisual Manager for Bradley University’s AV department. He also studied accounting and computer science at Bradley University’s Foster College of Business.
Joe is an audiovisual professional with almost two decades of experience. He has been involved in all aspects of AV production and integration… from Broadway theater production and broadcast to corporate events and installation.
Though Joe is an AV veteran, he has recently enjoyed learning more about cybersecurity from the professionals at Pearl Technology. He anticipates the company will grow in low-voltage offerings.
What Sustains Him
Joe’s primary motivation for getting through each day is building a better future for his family while helping the team succeed. His philosophy is 1% better every day.

Joe lives in Central Illinois and loves golfing, camping, traveling, and exploring in his free time.
