As an IT associate at Pearl Technology, Tony Fryxell helps to provide IT solutions for clients, often working on-site, to help keep their businesses running smoothly. Tony is part of our managed services team and works on our help desk to assure clients’ concerns are addressed in a timely fashion.
How He Serves
Tony works out of Pearl Tech’s headquarters in Peoria Heights, IL. He joined the team about seven years ago. In a nutshell, Tony provides advanced troubleshooting skills and IT support to ensure clients’ needs are met and businesses stay up and running.
“I love the service team I work with,” Tony said. “And I appreciate the opportunity to take care of our clients. Most people contact me on their bad day… and I work to make it better. It’s a great feeling to know I can help.”
Drawn to Pearl Technology for its good customer service reputation, Tony said that hasn’t changed. “We’re still recognized for our service. In fact, Pearl Technology recently received a 99% customer service rating that was pulled from more than 700 customer surveys in 2022.”
Working one-on-one with clients, Tony troubleshoots minor to major issues with applications, networks, and Internet Service Providers (ISPs). He helps with networking issues related to firewalls, switches, computers, and more. Tony also installs and tests network cabling and components. In addition, he manages user and shared accounts, network storage locations, and customer profile accounts. Tony is proficient with Office 365, spam filters, backups, Palo Alto firewalls, and Cisco switches, just to name a few of his skills.
“This team keeps me going throughout the day,” Tony said. “We help each other through thick and thin. Everyone is always available to help with an easy or difficult case. We can go to work and do our job, but it becomes mundane if we do the same thing every day. At Pearl Technology, every call is different. I can help someone out every day, and someone can help me every day.”
What His Experience Means
Prior to joining the team at Pearl Technology, Tony worked as a contract employee for Advanced Technology Services where he provided software systems support. He has more than 20 years of experience in the industry.
A U.S. Army veteran, Tony served for 15 years as a sergeant, infantryman, finance NCO, and battalion weapons trainer. As part of his service, he helped to create workstations for high-level Department of Defense teams and helped secure a financial system and software with an estimated worth of more than $150,000. Tony also implemented new software to control financial distributions throughout the world. He has received many commendations for his time in the military, including a Meritorious Service Medal, four Army Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, as well as two National Defense Ribbons, and more.
Though his integrity and experience are keys to Tony’s exceptional customer service, his special training is a customer benefit as well. He has CompTIA A+ certification, which covers cloud computing, cybersecurity, hardware, software, networking, troubleshooting issues, and setting up networks. He is currently working on his Network+ certification.
What Sustains Him
Tony lives with his wife, Angela, and daughter, Mackenzie, in Hanna City, IL. They have three dogs—Bella, Tipi, and Shadow.
Ingrained in his brain from time in the military, Tony lives by this philosophy: “If you’re not early, you’re late.” He believes in being prompt and not procrastinating.
You might say Tony believes in staying busy and helping others, too. After all, he serves as mayor of Hanna City, a member of InfraGard (Springfield), a committee member for Tee It Up for the Troops, a VFW member, and an American Legion member. In his free time, Tony enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, Cardinals’ baseball, and Avalanche hockey.
